As an overweight child and teen with a terribly body image, Anna finally took control of her life at age 22. Now a personal trainer (certified through Can-Fit-Pro), a yoga instructor (certified through Wilfred Laurier University/and Denise Davis-Gains of Atlas Studio), and health, fitness and wellness writer Anna continues to educate herself on fitness as a way of life.

Anna has studied yoga under Carolyn Weatherson of Performance Dance Academy in Guelph, Ontario and Denise Davis-Gains of Atlas Yoga Studio in Kitchener, Ontario. She has also been lucky to attend a workshop with renowned Ashtanga yogi David Williams, who studied under K. Pattabhi Jois himself.

Anna currently teaches Monday evening yoga classes at Atlas Yoga Studio in Kitchener, Ontario. The gift of yoga begins with the breath. To find the breath in one’s body is to experience a wonderful place that is inside all of us; one of awareness, balance, dedication, and trust. Through my teaching I create an opportunity for my students to explore this place.

Yoga found its way into my life in 2001, my dad taking me to my first class at our gym. Unaware at the time that this class was the beginning of my lifelong practice; I have since studied with a variety of teachers, in many wonderful places around the earth.

I hold a degree in Political Science and Communications from Sir Wilfrid Laurier University (Waterloo, 2006). Upon graduation I moved to Europe to explore its rich culture. When living on the Island of Paros, Greece I studied Zen Meditation (Zazen), Tai Chi, and Vinyasa Yoga at Tao’s Spiritual Centre (www.taos-greece.com). Tao’s is a unique paradise owned by three Israel families, with a Thai chef, on a Greek island, housing visitors from around the globe; it is a place of friendship, happiness, acceptance, and growth. My stay at Tao’s taught me to make more time for self study, reflection, and create balance in life through daily practice. In the busy Western lifestyle these concepts may often be overlooked; my teachings always keep their importance in mind.

In May 2007 I commenced my studies at The School of Natural Medicine and Yoga Therapy (Toronto). It is here that I was first introduced to Kundalini Yoga: The Yoga of Awareness. I am one of a small group of teachers that are qualified to teach this powerful form of yoga. Studying both Kundalini and Hatha yoga I have grown personally and professionally as a dedicated and patient teacher. I use my knowledge to create unique programs for my students who include (but are not limited to) Runners (Athletes), Children, Seniors, Students, Men & Women. My programs also further develop strong concentration, dedication, and focus as I teach the concepts of self study and reflection. Often playing music in the teaching space, my classes will not only energize you, but help you shape, tone, and strengthen your entire body.

I have great respect for the teachings of yoga and love to teach. When I am not teaching I am dazzling people with my exceptional service in the hospitality industry, running with my dog, visiting my family, swimming, reading, writing, painting, or cooking up a storm in my kitchen. My name is Beth Murch and I am a professional Antenatal, Labour and Postpartum Doula in the Kitchener-Waterloo region. From a very early age, I was interested in pregnancy and childbirth - I was the child who told all the other children in the schoolyard how babies were made. I was absolutely fascinated by the fact that two people could make a whole new human being. While other little girls and boys were playing soccer and having tea parties, I was putting basketballs up my shirt and breastfeeding my dollies.

I have a Double Honours Bachelor of Arts in English and Religion & Culture, with a minor in Women's Studies, as well as a Master of Arts in Religion & Culture, all from Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo. My focus of study in university has been primarily on women's religious and spiritual experiences during pregnancy and childbirth.

I have received my training through the Ontario Perinatal School and the Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association of Canada (CAPPA). Through these organization, I have gained the skills to help women and their families enjoy pregnancy, express their birthing desires, help them achieve the birth that is safest and most satisfying for them, and to enjoy a positive postpartum period. I believe that a woman's emotional support team is as vital to her birth experience as her medical team, and through my education, I have learned techniques that help women labour effectively, manage pain, breastfeed and make informed choices about their care. I also lead Blessingway Ceremonies for individuals who wish to have their childbearing experience celebrated with ritual.

Hol-Health Wellness Spa was born through my own healing journey in 2006 when debilitating joint pain was eliminated using alternative health practices. I realized that as my pain gradually left my body and my health continued to improve, I felt compelled to share my experience.

Having a long term interest in herbal and natural remedies, the idea was not foreign to me that the body has an innate ability to heal itself given the opportunity to do so. Having such impressive results in a relatively short time increased my desire to become educated and I created a place to offer others the opportunity to be empowered and heal themselves.

Innisfree Shool of Hypnosis Education is authorized by both the Ontario Government and the Candian Government [Ministry of Human Resources and Skills Development}. It is the goal of Innisfree to train Consulting Hypnotherapists far further thasn the weekend training courses of some hypnosis assoicatiopns. It is also the goal to teach ALL the beginning tools to Innisfree students rather than have them come back to learn them. Innisfree approaches hypnosis as consciousness and bases the training on the teachings of 3 great clinical hypnotists Milton Erckson M.D., Dave Elman and Randall Churchill PhD.

The course is tough and demanding - reading, writng, research, and practice are required continually. Students must also be working on their own issues through hypnosis. It is possible to have gained 400+ hourse by the end of this course. An additionl program of 24 hours is included in the price. It features further transpersonal work.

Innisfree works with the whole area of consciousness from the clinical needs  for pain to releasing spiritual entities. Students are taught in groups of 4 maximum and sometimes individually. They must leave all religious forms at the door and be willing to go past their own academic training [if they are in the medical or mental health profession].

Classes are 4 hours with an expectation of 5 or more ours work being done between classes. Classes are offered during the week at night or on weekends.

Acceptance to this program is by interview.

In the fall of 2010 Julie Wilson and Mark Reynolds decided to combine their talents and form Wilson&Reynolds reflexology. Both Julie and Mark studied and received their certification at the Canadian Academy of Reflexology and Deep Muscle Therapy in Waterloo, Ontario. It was during their studies that Julie and Mark began to see the validity and effectiveness of regular reflexology treatments.

Julie and Mark come from a diverse background in the private sector. Their common desire to give back and make a difference in people’s lives led them to pursue the complementary health modality of reflexology.

Reflexology results are to relax, reduce stress, increase circulation, and balance the systems of the body. Reflexology can be used to help boost the immune system, provide relief from pain and anxiety, improve digestive and circulatory issues, help with the pressure of headaches and migraines, provide relief from symptoms of menopause and PMS, lower stress levels, and generally provide a better quality of life.

In the spring of 2008, Mark initiated a reflexology program at Hopespring Cancer Support Centre in Waterloo. Many studies have shown that reflexology is effective in providing relief from pain and anxiety. At the time, Hopespring did not offer reflexology. Now, reflexology is by far the most sought after modality at the centre. This is a testament to the effectiveness of this amazing natural therapy.

The future and scope of reflexology will continue to expand as this wonderfully effective therapy is more widely understood.
